Our Mission

To motivate individuals within the baby boomer generation to travel the world. Moreover, to experience other cultures, explore the history and be nourished by flavorful & exotic foods. All the while, journeying on a minimalistic budget.

About Us

Cindy and I are what the world likes to call the baby boomer generation; we are also empty-nesters. We are tail-end baby boomers born between 1959 – 1968. Myself born in 1959 and Cindy in 1962.

Both of us worked having full-time occupations. We knew we wanted more out of life; besides, you never know how long you will have good health. Travel and enjoying culturally diverse foods is something that we are both passionate about. History in the form of ancient civilizations I find utterly amazing; this includes the structures that one can visit.

After considering the pros and cons of leaving our routine, predictable life, we decided to embrace the future, so we quit our jobs to pursue our passion for travel. As a bonus, this also means leaving cold Canadian winters behind. Instead, we get to journey to countries that offered milder winters along with life learning experiences. This was not a risk but a positive move forward with endless possibilities.

We started roaming the world in earnest in the winter of 2017-2018. Traveling to Malaysia and Thailand, this was everything that we had hoped for and more.

As our Blogging name implies we are baby boomers on a budget that travel to extraordinary places.

What our Blog is about

We are baby boomers that travel the world on a budget. This travel blog is used to convey our experiences through personal stories and stunning photographs.

Our travel path is one that looks at areas less traveled, less touristy, and more affordable. Cindy and I tend to stay longer at our locations than the normal of a couple of days. We have the time and take the opportunities to relax and enjoy each moment presented to us both.

Exotic, local foods are another joy of ours as we embrace the many flavors that make up these different locals. This affords us foods that are authentic and friendships that are real.

Why follow
